It’s Police Week in DC! Since, JFK founded Peace Officers Memorial Day in 1962, this has been an important time of the year for those who protect and serve. Each year, this week full of services, competitions, and marches draws as many as 40,000 attendees. A common ground for police officers everywhere, the series of events includes memorial services, the annual Blue Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Honor Guard and Pipe Band competitions, and the National Police Survivors Conference.
