Director’s Cut is a five-day series of modern ballet works by celebrated industry figures Septime Webre, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and William Forsythe. State of Wonder, which features imaginative and energetic choreography by Webre, is an exploration of Bach’s Goldberg variations in the form of 32 dance translations. Ochoa’s Prism moves to the sound of a 1970’s jazz piano riff by non-other than Mr.Keith Jarrett. In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, a Forsythe routine, explores abstract expressionism through dance to the sound of electronic music. Altogether, the series will bring some super fun shows to the Washington Ballet this year.
