Jazz has always been the epitome of cool and the DC Jazz Festival is the perfect time period to embrace all things Jazz. Over a hundred jazz performances from some of the best jazz musicians this country has to offer take place over the course of the five-day festival which kicks off June 24. From Blues and Swing to Soul and World music jazz, aficionados are sure to find their niche at the many festival concerts and events.

- June 24-29 – Jazz in the ‘Hoods is a partnership with local clubs, restaurants, hotels, galleries and community centers in Washington DC including more than 45 venues with performances in 29 neighborhoods around the city.
- June 27-29 – Jazz at the Riverfront Riverfront? Check. Passed Hor’s D’oevres?Check. And wine? Count us in. Don’t miss Jazz at the Capitol Riverfront from June 27-29. The event includes wine and beer tastings; chef demonstrations; and a marketplace. The event will star Gregory Porter, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Rebirth Brass Band, Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Irma Thomas, vocalist Akua Allrich and harmonica virtuoso Frédéric Yonnet.
