Washington DC’s oldest festival is returning for a 2016 installment, despite plans to shut down this year. Brought back to life by viewer donations, staffers taking pay cuts, as well as a drop in venues and celebrity appearances, the event is making it all about the film with a “leaner and meaner” theme this season. This year’s event will still feature a number of internationally acclaimed films including The Dressmaker, which stars Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet, and the buzzing new political satire My Internship in Canada.
