Another Great Pastime: DC Beer Week
The trend of craft beer in the United States has grown rapidly in recent years. Knocking back a cold one isn’t as shallow of an activity as previously perceived by the masses. Like good wine, and fine dining, beer can now be explored for mature flavors, artisan talent and envelope pushing brews. For all of these reasons, those who will be in the Washington DC area late this August can look forward to DC Beer Week.
Our nation’s capital will be celebrating the best beer in the city and the country from August 17th-24th in a wide range exhibition of tastings, seminars and events. The various happenings will take attendees through all the different perceptions and enjoyments offered by beer. From creating these fine beverages to tasting them, those who find themselves immersed in DC Beer Week will absolutely walk away with an elevated knowledge and appreciation for this classic carbonated beverage.
There’s a lot of hype and excitement surrounding this impending week of drinking. A couple of days before the events kick off, the Washington Nationals will be hosting a celebration of Beer Week at their home field, Nationals Park.
The events for the actual week are still in the works and will be released soon. The mystery is exciting, as Beer Week’s tradition of hosting hundreds of beer-centric events all over the District of Columbia and Maryland will carry over in full effect this August. Attendees can expect to have the options of beer dinners, tap takeovers, panel discussions and a beer dinner cruise.
There will be a lot of cheer and simple appreciation for hard work, creativity and delicious beer throughout the entire week. Those who will be around, keep an ear out for updated events and try some out. This one week is a time where there is a little extra to enjoy in Washington DC.
