Every year, Fiesta Asia celebrates Asian Pacific Heritage Month in the heart of Capitol Hill on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 3rd and 6th streets. The event honors eastern nations with a variety of Asian arts and culture attractions. From interactive childrens’ activities to live musical acts to performance artists, and Pan-Asian cuisine, the entire Fiesta Asia event promises to entertain and excite.
Fiesta Asia is the National Asian Heritage Festival of the United States, making it an incomparable event for Asian internationals and descendants. Fiesta Asia has been spreading culture throughout Washington DC and beyond since 2006. The main focus of the gathering is to commemorate the participation and contribution of Asian and Pacific Island cultures in the United States over the past several decades. Attendees and organizers realize their goal of spreading awareness through a series of fun, educational events and activities on the day of the festival.
Fiesta Asia features over 100 live performance acts. A wide variety of artists taking the stage, this year’s Asian Heritage Festival will feature Tibetan Folk acts, Middle Eastern Drummers, Filipino Hip Hop artists, and the annual Fiesta Asia Emerging Stars Contest. There will be interactive workshops for Asian traditions such as: Bollywood dancing, Hula dancing, Drumming, Belly dancing and more. Parents can also drop off their kids at the Kiddiz Cool Lounge where they can play with costumed dragons and pandas while taking part in a variety of arts and crafts.
