The Alexandria Film Festival takes place from November 6-9, 2014. The festival takes place in the heart of Old Town Alexandria so the backdrop behind the festival is quaint and charming. This four day festival is jam packed with a variety of independent screenings. This year’s screenings have not been posted yet but many of the 2013 film screenings took place at the Old Town Theater (815 King St, Alexandria).
Usually the festival opens with an Opening Night Kick-off event. Over the course of the next few days films are shown and attendees can expect to view everything from film shorts to full-length films. Typically the director is in attendance and Q&As are always guaranteed to be lively and engaging. The festival closes with an awards showcase and a closing reception. The Alexandria Film Festival Awards distributed include Best of Fest, the Special Jury Award and an Audience award.
After the film festival screenings head to one of the local Old Town Alexandria restaurants, trust us you won’t be disappointed. Vermillion (1120 King Street, Alexandria) was named one of the “Very Best restaurants in Virginia” and we concur. Farm fresh ingredients help make every dish served here a stand out winner. We recommend the tasting menu and wine pairings to get the most out of your experience. Virtue Feed & Grain (106 S.
